Alan Vega and Martin Rev invented punk a good five years before it became popular in New York - seven years before it became popular in the UK and in Europe.

They worked together as the band "Suicide" on and off until Alan Vega's passing.

Their secret for longevity was simple, as Alan Vega once put it: "We never split - that's probably what helped us sticking together".
